Day #18, Keep Being You

balance_day18I’m a yoga every day kind of person, but this month I have not been so consistent. In those hours after work when I often retreat to my mat for relief, I’ve been crafting and baking instead. Don’t get me wrong, I love to craft and bake and I am choosing that this time of year, but too long without my routine can get me a little out of wack. There’s a reason I have this routine, it keeps me focused and balanced. It allows me to get out of my head and into my body, my heart. I might not be able to capture my entire routine back, but I can get back on my mat a few more times each week, 15 minutes here, 20 minutes there. I have to keep being me!

Prompt: We give up a lot during the holidays, and maybe the biggest loss is our routine. Holiday parties keep us from heading home after work, and shopping becomes a chore. Don’t let the season swallow you up. Keep doing the things you love, that define who you are. See if you can channel some of your festive energy into these routines. Are you a reader?
